What is Goose Down?
Goose Down consists of light and fluffy clusters that trap air by interlocking and overlapping each other. These air pockets help to maintain temeprature and produce superior "loft" or volume.
What is so special about Goose Down?
Geese, being larger birds, produce larger down clusters and feathers than those of similarly raised ducks. The larger clusters of down produced from Geese make for a higher insulation factor. To that point, goose blends are usually the choice for clothing and bedding, where insulation is seen as a primary necessity.
Why are there two types of filling in my pillow?
Typically, different ratios of feather and down are used withing the filling of your pillows to achieve different desired effects. In brief, down is light and fluffy which is excellent for retaining heat and volume.
Feathers on the other hand, add to the firmness of the pillow and work to retain the shape, making the pillow a lot more comfortable.
